Biography

In another life, Sebastian Jones (Seb to his friends) was an office manager at a major stationary company. His organisational skills, willingness to listen to others and ability to take whatever was thrown at him made him excellent at his job. Unfortunately, the company collapsed when the CEO was found to be embezzling funds, and Sebastian had to move on. After something with a bit less pressure, he applied for a job to "head up a small administrative branch of a security organisation" and ended up in charge of Torchwood One post-Canary Wharf. This was a definite change, although for many months he had only a vague idea of what it was Torchwood actually did. The existence of aliens, however, seemed to explain a lot about life in general and he was more than willing to accept it as fact.

Initially, Sebastian was unwilling to stay on as director when Torchwood One was restructured, but after working closely with Captain Jack Harkness he reconsidered, deciding that he was up to the job after all. Sebastian is quite happy in his role as director and will gladly leave all the technical and physical work to someone else, preferring to deal with the paperwork (of which there is a lot). Whilst sending frequent reports to Jack, Sebastian will be running Torchwood One has he sees fit. He's already promised not to welcome any Cybermen.

Personality

Sebastian works hard and takes his job very seriously. He's analytical and soft-spoken, but he's also very much in control of situations. He's a democratic leader who is able to make the tough decisions when need be. He operates on the theory that happy staff are dedicated staff. He's very approachable, but it's obvious that he knows what he's doing and is more than capable of doing his job.

He does have a sense of humour, despite what his strong work ethic would lead some people to believe.

He owns three dogs, enjoys playing tennis and plays the trumpet.
