(or: how to make yourself even more confused)

Torchwood London fell in 2006. Evidence here.

Queen Victoria's speech of 1899 indicates that Torchwood has been open for twenty years (1879). Ianto's introduction email to Gwen supports this. He also states that Torchwood (as a whole) has been in operation for 130 years (2009).

The Cardiff Rift has been active since 1869, however (thank you, Doctor, Rose, and Gwyneth-not-Gwen).

Jack's tag reading 2007 was an error in the props department.

It looks like Heroes was meant to be 2006, which means Nathan's election was around 11 months ago (if we call "today" 1 October 2007). So it's been nearly a year since Peter exploded.

I think when we started, when it was mostly just Torchwood/Who people, some of us were thinking it should be 2009, but that was getting too confusing for us normal, mortal folk when we were trying to figure out when things were happening. It should be 2009 in Cardiff, but it's strangely 2007 and we're just going to blame it on the props department at the BBC.

So that means...

Adam is officially from 2012, but for the sake of the game and rift sanity, the writer has decided to leave that bit out and Adam is actually from 2007 because you know there JUST MIGHT BE some crazy brilliant millionaire guy in a bunker in Utah right now. It makes a lot more sense than a lot of the things going on in the US.

Just sayin'.

Annie and Gene are 33 years ahead.

Harry Sullivan is 32 years ahead.

All the assorted Time Lords shouldn't exist.

Claude should technically be dead.

So should Adric, for that matter.

And probably the Twins.

Jane, Steve, and Jeff are five (yes? five?) years ahead.

Mulder is roughly ten years ahead.

Charlie Pace is three years ahead.

To further confuse things....

Mickey, Jake, and Rose are technically in the right time, but from a parallel Earth

Alice is also from a parallel Earth -- presumably not the same one as Mickey, Jake, and Rose -- and is five years in her past.

Harper is centuries in the past.

And if you're keeping track...

Peter, Claire, Sheppard, and McKay are actually in the right time.

Roughly.

Essentially, no one is in the right time so for the sake of sanity it is ...
